ABOUT KAMISAMA RAMEN

Mike Yang’s journey in the world of food began over 20 years ago, driven by a desire to bring the comforting, soulful flavors of Asia to Bakersfield, California. When he opened Kamisama in 2010, he wasn’t just creating a ramen restaurant,  he was building a gathering place for the community to experience authentic Asian cuisine, crafted with heart and tradition. Kamisama was among the earliest known ramen establishments in the area during that year, with other notable ramen restaurants following suit in the years that came.

As Bakersfield has grown with a diversity of appetites, Mike felt it essential to evolve Kamisama’s offerings to match. Recently, he rebranded the menu to introduce an expansive taste of Asia, extending beyond ramen to include an array of soups, rice bowls, and grilled combo entrées. Now under new management and with a growing team dedicated to serving fresh, exciting meals, Kamisama is set to unfold a new chapter in 2025, redefining itself from a traditional ramen spot to a destination for diverse Asian-inspired dishes.

Mike’s vision for Kamisama is to be more than just a restaurant, he’s created a place where friends and families can gather, sharing meals that are both comforting and adventurous, all within a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

 

Kamisama continues to be a cornerstone in Bakersfield, with two locations on the Northwest and Southwest side, serving not only delicious food but also a sense of connection and shared experience.
