Ramen Noodles
Translated into English, Ramen means “pulled noodles.” It’s made out of wheat flour, salt, water and kansui. Unlike packaged ramen, when made fresh it can come in many different varieties in terms of shape and texture. It’s typically served over a hot bowl of soup.
Udon Noodles
Similar to Ramen noodles, Udon noodles are made out of wheat flour as well. However, unlike ramen noodles, their most noteworthy quality is how thick they are. They are also enjoyed in both hot and cold dishes.
